The Castle

The Castle is this really great industrial club located in Ybor City near the outskirts of downtown Tampa FL. I often  go there with my friends to drink and sometimes DJ there on the weekends. Well last night I decided to slam two shots of Patron and a shot of Jameson in one fell swoop after already consuming at least four Black Russians and a tasty glass of White Chimay at Fly Bar which is located more downtown a bit earlier that evening... needless to say me & my beautiful ex-girlfriend that still sleeps at my house for some strange reason got crazy buck wild on the dance floor and then I proceeded to disappear and ended up outside and rolling around in the dirt trying to battle the horrific spins that were caused by this Irish vs German shot slamming festival that happened just prior to the dance floor debauchery. I somehow managed to pick myself up and make my way to the pizza place which is about a block away from the club and bought a pepperoni pizza. I vaguely remember making my way back towards The Castle and sitting down somewhere and having some unknown asshole steal two slices of my fucking pizza while I was face down and mumbling to myself. During this entire process I managed to lose my prescription glasses, my debit card and my phone carrying case and could not be found anywhere by my friends. Finally my ex found me just around the corner of the club with my head down on a table near the school library and the ATM. Somehow we managed to find my car after walking in the completely opposite direction for about twenty minutes and were able to make it home safely "ex driving of course"...!!! It's now 4pm in the afternoon and I just woke up with a nasty hangover and seriously hate life and desperately need a shower and some food...!!! Happy Fourth of July everyone...!!!

So I figured I will just give this blogging thing a whirl and see what happens...

This blog in particular will most likely feature reviews and opinions, thoughts and feelings about art.. music.. designer toys.. and whatever else comes across my path and blows my mind. Maybe some of my friends will actually check in from time to time to see what is happening in the land of Sumatra 71...

I'm not really sure why I chose this nickname Sumatra 71 but for some reason it just rolls off the tongue and works for me. I imagine lying on the beach overlooking the Indian Ocean back in 1971 "the year I was born" and soaking up the lush and tropical surroundings. I'm hanging out with a beautiful island girl and kicking back with some drinks.. we are covered in sand from dancing about and just enjoying life and one another's company while listening to the wind and musical waves crash around us... this thought helps me forget about the bills... the longs days at work... the everyday routine of you will... so this is why I chose this alternate identity just in case anyone was wondering... yeah' right, like someone was actually thinking about this... anyway...

The island is home to 201 mammal species and 580 bird species... Sumatran Tigers, Malayan Tapirs, Dayak Fruit Bats, Sun Bears, and Bornean Clouded Leopards to name but a few...

Major threats to the Sumatran forest are the pulp and paper industry and expansion of palm oil plantations...
